Hear From Our Alumni - What Makes Capitol Stand Out?

Cosmetology Start Dates

Capitol is one of the most popular hair schools in Nebraska and Iowa, so our class rosters typically fill far in advance.  It is recommended you register at least 6 months to a year in advance of the start date you’d like.

Freshman Training is extremely hands-on.  We cap each new class at only 18 students, with typically 2 Instructors teaching you and working hand-in-hand with you.  Typical days involve small amounts of note taking, with the majority of time being hands-on work on mannequins.  You will be each others’ models for makeup, manicuring, pedicuring & shampooing.  Cuts & Colors we’ll stick strictly to mannequins for this initial Freshman Training :)

Freshman Training will end with a comprehensive Finals Week filled with both theory exams and daily practical examinations.  You’ll also experience in-depth Customer Service Training and clinic floor shadowing of an upper level senior student.

Be sure to tell your friends and family to call and book an appointment with you!  In fact, approximately 85% of your senior training is in our busy clinic.  We want you to get working with your hands because we know that is the best way to learn!

Students graduate, on average, in about 13 1/2 months from the Cosmetology Program.

Seniors choose one day (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) to be their ‘late night’ in which they’ll stay 9am to 8pm each week until Graduation.  This allows Seniors to get friends and family in for services who couldn’t otherwise make it during normal business hours.
