Why Capitol

We produce designers, not technicians.

Capitol is much different than any other school in the country. We hold extremely high standards and expectations of both our staff and students to ensure the best education possible.

01

Hands-On Training

We are truly hands-on from day one. Over 80% of your Senior Training is spent in practice with client guests, not sitting and taking notes.

02

Real Client Experience

A training laboratory that services over 2,000 clients monthly, including regulars who have been loyal to Capitol for decades.

03

Experienced Instructors

Staff with over 200 years of combined teaching experience, several of them teaching cosmetology and esthetics for 10 to 40 years.

04

Career-Focused Education

Art studies, salon ownership, business building and money management alongside the license, plus help placing graduates in Omaha salons.

Programs

Choose your craft.

Two programs, both built around real clients, real deadlines and the business side of a beauty career.

The Capitol Experience

There is only one Capitol School in the entire world.

Capitol is locally and family owned. We are not your run-of-the-mill, corporately-owned chain school. We are different from all of the “other guys” and we love it that way.

In 1975 we began preparing students for the emerging field of esthetics and skin care. In 1997 we opened Capitol School of Esthetics, a first in the region. Though primarily regional, students have come from all over the US and some parts of the world to learn from our dedicated teachers.

About the School
Your Journey

From first visit to first chair.

01

Choose Your Program

Cosmetology or esthetics. Tour the school, meet the instructors and see the clinic floor before you commit.

02

Learn & Practice

Freshman Training puts you in front of two to four instructors every day, each bringing a different perspective to the work.

03

Work With Real Clients

Senior Training moves you onto the clinic floor, building a clientele on real guests before you ever leave school.

04

Launch Your Career

Graduate placement, business building and self promotion, so the license is the beginning rather than the finish line.

Student Success

Graduates working worldwide.

Capitol graduates work all over the world in the beauty industry, and in the best salons here in the States.

I transferred from another school in the area and there was a vast difference between the other school and what I got at Capitol. I am now working at Creative Hair Design and as a regional educator for Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics.

Kat Ferm2009 Cosmetology Graduate

I called the top salons in Omaha and asked which school they would recommend, and they always would say “Capitol.” I would recommend Capitol to anyone who is truly interested in the art of hair.

Thirteen months later the day came, I was official. I am currently working at Scissori’s Salon and Skincare Loft. Being truly passionate about what I do, I am quickly climbing the ladder in the industry.
